Status Report #2: Showcase of Web & Social Media

Example #1: Front Row Sports
Example #2: Sang To Go

Overview

Each team will record a 5-min max presentation that showcases their website and social channels. The presentation should address the goal/purpose each channel serves, and the success measures used to track progress toward those goals.

Presentation Requirements:

  • For this presentation you can use Google Slides or simply share your screen to walk the audience through your website and social channels. If you choose to create slides, you will need to take screenshots of your pages and bring them into your presentation tool as jpeg or png.
  • For screenshots on a PC – go to your start button > search for “snipping tool” > right-click and “pin to taskbar” > select the icon > use the “T” tool (plus sign) icon to make a box around the area you want to capture > save as jpeg or copy/paste into the slides. On a Mac – Command > Shift > 4 to grab a picture of just part of the screen
  • Follow the outline that is provided. An OPTIONAL template is also provided as a .pptx file.
  • Use Zoom to record your presentation (not to exceed 5 min) and share your presentation file

Task

Step 1: Plan & Schedule

Coordinate as a group on how you are going to put together your presentation and whether or not you want to create slides or just do screen share.

Step 2: Schedule your Recording Day

Decide on a day you will record your status report and what tool you want to use for the recording. All team members must be present in the presentation unless otherwise arranged with the instructor.

Step 3: Create your Presentation Using the Following Outline

  • Organization or Initiative Overview: Brief overview of who you are, what you do, who you serve, benefits. This can be a re-statement of your value proposition or summary of your overview statement from Part 1.
  • Website: Summarize the primary objective, target audience, and primary goals of the site (what you want people to do when they visit). Showcase of home page and pages/sections for who we are, what we do, who we serve, blog.
  • Social Media Channels: Summarize your goals with audience engagement and the type of content you plan to feature on your channels. Include notes on how you hope to motivate your audience to engage through likes, shares, comments or other user-generated content. Showcase of the start of your social channels
  • Closing Remarks: Now that you have your website and social channels set up – close your status report with ideas you have for campaign #1 and how you can generate awareness and drive traffic to your digital channels.

Step 4: Record your Presentation and Turn in In

  1. Schedule a Zoom meeting for the team PRIOR to the deadline
  1. Have one person on the team record it to the Cloud
  1. Have one person on the team the link to the presentation in Canvas
