Week 15: Dec 7-13 (Dead Week)

Welcome to the final week of COMSTRAT310! You should be incredibly proud of all of the work you have accomplished this semester. Now, do your best to finish strong!!

This week, you can anticipate the following:

Tuesday, Dec 8: No class; work on final assignments — peer evals, final presentations and advanced analytics.

Thursday, Dec 10: No class; Chelsea will be available via Zoom during class hours for any final questions.

Be sure to review your grades in Blackboard and reach out with any questions. As I said in class, my goal is to be as transparent as I can — as early as I can — about what you can expect as a final grade.

It was truly an honor to have each of you in COMSTRAT310 this semester. Good luck in your future endeavors… and please, never hesitate to reach out if I can help in any way!

Week 14: Nov 30-Dec 6

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break! As we head into the final weeks of the semester (can you believe it?!), we will begin to reflect on all that we’ve covered… and note the improvements made between Campaign #1 and Campaign #2. The overarching goal of Lesson 6 is to assess, compare and consider your progress. You all have come so far and should be so very proud! It’s been a delight to see your growth throughout the semester.

We will only officially meet once more this semester, during class time on Tuesday, December 1st. However, I will be available during class on Thursday, December 10th for any final questions and/or concerns.

As we look ahead, you can anticipate the following:

Tuesday, December 1: FINAL all class meeting via Zoom

  • Review Part 6: Final Presentations and Showcase
  • Review Peer Evaluations
  • Final Lecture: Preparing for Careers in Digital

Thursday, December 3: No class; work on Final Presentations

Week 13: Nov 16-22

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Week 13. It’s hard to believe we’re almost at the end of the semester! This will be a relatively easy week, although it will be important to keep running Campaign #2 in preparation for your Final Presentations after Thanksgiving Break. A few details in that regard:

Tuesday, Nov 17: No Zoom class. Please keep running your campaigns as planned (note, no Google Ads are required this time around).

Thursday, Nov 19: All-class Zoom meeting. This will be an opportunity to close out Campaign #2 and begin discussion of the Final Presentations, which will be due after Thanksgiving Break.

As always, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m here… for whatever you might need. 🙂

Week 12: Nov 9-15

It’s Week 12, which means we have now wrapped up Campaign #1 and are ready to move on to Campaign #2! I hope you learned lots of useful information that you can carry into this next campaign. As I have said before, the goal in this course is to execute a campaign, evaluate it and glean insight, then launch a new campaign and improve upon the first campaign. Ultimately… that’s the goal!

Moving forward, you will be required to attend fewer classes as much of your time will be put into campaign content development and execution. Be sure to check the weekly class website for real-time updates and class schedules as we approach the semester’s end.

This week, you can anticipate the following:

Tuesday, Nov 10: All-class meetup via Zoom

  • All-things Campaign #2 so you can get right into implementation!
  • Advanced Google Analytics check-in

Thursday, Nov 12: No class meetup

  • Continue Campaign #2 implementation
  • Monitor metrics as a team

NOTE: After class on Tuesday, we will not meet together again until Thursday, Nov 19 to wrap-up Campaign #2. This does not mean the course stops… be sure you’re checking in with your team and working with them accordingly on Campaign #2!

Week 11: Nov 2-8

Hi everyone!

As a reminder, there will be no class on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Rather, you are encouraged to check on Campaign #1 and schedule some time to assess current stats with your teammates. Be sure to forge ahead with blog posts (you’ll need 7 in total for this campaign), distribute your HTML email if you haven’t already, and share content on your social media channels.
